This Privacy Policy explains how Wayzn (“we”, “our” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information about you when you use our websites, the Wayzn mobile application(s), and other online products and services (collectively, the “Services”), contact our customer service team, engage with us on social media, or otherwise interact with us. When you use the Services, you are consenting to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
Information You Provide to Us
We collect personal information you provide directly to us. For example, you share information directly with us when you create an account, or use our Services, make a purchase, communicate with us via third party platforms, participate in a contest or promotion, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us. The types of personal information we may collect include your name, email address, postal address, phone number, geolocation, credit card and other payment information, and any other information you choose to provide.
Other Information We Collect When You Interact with Us
When you access or use our Services or otherwise transact business with us, we automatically collect information about you, including:
- Usage Information: We collect information about your use of the Services, such as the when you ask your device to open or close a door, window, or other entryway, and the frequency of use.
- Transactional Information: When you register through our mobile application or purchase any products or services, which may include your name, phone number, email address, postal addresses, credit card or other billing information and any feedback. We also collect information about the transaction, such as product details, purchase price, and date and location of the transaction.
- Log and Authentication Information: We collect information related to your access to and use of the Services, including the type of browser you use, app version, mobile-device identifiers, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and the page you visited before navigating to our Services.
- Device Information: We collect information about the computer or mobile device you or your authorized users use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, geolocation, and mobile network information. For security reasons, your Wi-Fi network information is recorded to help determine whether you are sending a request at home or remotely. We also collect information associated with the use of our smart home products such as device status, user settings and preferences, logs of device usage, the authorized user that you invite to use smart home products, and those people who may invite you as a authorized user, to use the device and application. We may store this data along with your personal data and other information about your use of our Service.
- Authorized Users Information: We collect information about the authorized users that you invite in order to allow them to have access to your smart home device and Service. Authorized users should be aware that the person(s) providing access to a specific device may be able to see information about the authorized user’s usage of the device or our Service, and may revoke or limit access rights in their discretion without notice. In connection with the authorized user invitation process, we may ask for access to your contact list. We will only store information for contacts that you add as authorized users;
- Location Information: When authorized by you by opting in to the Wayzn app “Automate Location” feature, we access, collect and transmit information about the precise location of your mobile device in order to automatically set your Wayzn device’s “Home” or “Away” status, even when the Wayzn mobile app is closed or not in use. We require background location permission so that this functionality will work even if your Wayzn app is closed. You may stop the collection of precise location information at any time (see Your Choices below for details).
- Information Collected by Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: We (and our service providers) use tracking technologies, such as cookies and web beacons, to collect information about you. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us improve our Services and your experience, see which areas and features of our Services are popular, and count visits. Web beacons (also known as “pixel tags” or “clear GIFs”) are electronic images that may be used in our Services or emails and help deliver cookies, count visits, and understand usage and campaign effectiveness. - Other Devices and Products: If you choose to connect your Wayzn products to other third party applications through Wayzn integration features, we may collect information about your use of those other products. Please note that when you consent to connect these products, you are also consenting to these product manufacturers collecting additional personal data and other information about your use of the Wayzn products which are subject to these privacy policies.
Information We Collect from Other Sources
We may also obtain information about you from other sources. For example, we may collect information about you from third parties, including but not limited to identity verification services, mailing list providers, and publicly available sources.
Information We Derive
We may derive information or draw inferences about you based on the information we or our partners collect. For example, we may make inferences about your location based on your IP address or infer that you are looking to purchase certain products based on your browsing behavior and past purchases.
USE OF INFORMATION
We use the information we collect on our website or through the mobile application and services for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain and improve our products and services;
- To process transactions and send you related information, including confirmations, receipts, invoices, customers experience surveys, and recall notices;
- To send you technical notices, security alerts, and support and administrative messages and to respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests;
- To communicate with you about products, services, and events offered by Wazyn and others, and provide news and information we think will interest you (see Your Choices below for information about how to opt out of these communications at any time);
- To monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Services;
- To better understand needs and interests for you and your pets;
- To personalize the experience for you and your pets;
- To provide you with further information and offers from Wayzn or complementary products or services;
- To administer rewards, surveys, sweepstakes, contests, or other promotional activities or events sponsored or managed by Wayzn or our business partners;
- To comply with our legal and financial obligations;
- To debug to identify and repair errors in our Services; and
- To detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and protect the rights and property of Wayzn and others.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
Wayzn does not sell any personal or sensitive data. We may share or transfer collected information for any of the previously described purposes in these instances:
- With vendors, service providers, and consultants that need access to personal information in order to perform services for us, such as companies that assist us with billing services, mobile application functionality, video streaming, facilitate communications, enable customer support and other services connected to the Services, but only to the extent necessary to support our products or provide these services. See below for additional information.
- With other users of our Services, such as if you submit a product review or post content in a public area of our Services.
- In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law or legal process, including lawful requests by public authorities to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
- If we believe your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, if we believe you have violated the law, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Wayzn or others.
- With our lawyers and other professional advisors where necessary to obtain advice or otherwise protect and manage our business interests.
- In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.
- With your consent, such as with authorized user invitations or if you choose to connect our products to work in conjunction with third party products or services. See above for additional information about authorized user sharing information. Please note that when you consent to these transfers, any shared data will then be subject to the privacy policies of those third parties.
- As otherwise permitted by law and consistent with this policy.
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS SERVICES PROVIDED BY OTHERS
We allow third parties, including Google Analytics, to perform analytics and serve advertisements on our behalf across the web and in mobile applications. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites and applications, including your IP address, web browser, mobile network information, pages viewed, time spent on pages or in apps, links clicked, and conversion information. This information may be used by us and others to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, deliver advertising and content targeted to your interests on our Services and other websites, and better understand your online activity. For more information about interest-based ads, or to opt out of having your web browsing information used for behavioral advertising purposes, please visit www.aboutads.info/choices and, if you are located in the European Union, http://www.youronlinechoices.eu/. Your device may also include a feature (“Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS or “Opt Out of Interest-Based Ads” or “Opt Out of Ads Personalization” on Android) that allows you to opt out of having certain information collected through apps used for behavioral advertising purposes. We do not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals.
We also work with third parties to serve ads to you as part of customized campaigns on third party platforms (such as Facebook and Instagram). As part of these ad campaigns, we or third party platforms may convert information about you, such as your email address and phone number, into a unique value that can be matched with a user account on these platforms to allow us to learn about your interests and serve you advertising that is customized to your interest. Note that the third-party platforms may offer you choices about whether you see these types of customized ads.
SOCIAL SHARING FEATURES
Our Services may offer social sharing features and other integrated tools (such as the Facebook “Like” button), which let you share actions you take on our Services with other media, and vice versa. Your use of such features enables the sharing of information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the entity that provides the social sharing feature. For more information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing in connection with social sharing features, please visit the privacy policies of the entities that provide these features.
DATA HANDLING AND RETENTION
The Wayzn app and website collect and transmit information securely using SSL encryption. Data is stored using a secured cloud database service. We store the information we collect on you for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which we originally collected it, or for other legitimate business purposes, including to meet our legal, regulatory, or other compliance obligations. If you purchase Wayzn products or the Services, your billing and shipping address and the last four digits of your credit card information will be stored by our billing and payment service providers. Product use activity is stored alongside your account information for the duration of your account being active.
We will delete your personal data when the information is no longer necessary to process a request, at your request, or to manage your account or our client relationship. We will continue to store mobile application use activity, including authorized user activity, for a period of at least ninety (90) days following account deletion. We may store any aggregate or anonymous information indefinitely.
YOUR CHOICES
Account Information
You may update, correct certain account information you provide to us, or deactivate your account at any time by emailing us at contact@wayzn.com. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may also retain cached or archived copies of information about you.
Location Information
When you first launch any of our mobile apps that collect precise location information, you will be asked to consent to the app’s collection of this information. If you initially consent to our collection of this location information, you can subsequently stop the collection of this information at any time by changing the preferences on your mobile device. If you do so, some of our Services may no longer function properly. You may also stop our collection of this location information by following the standard uninstall process to remove all of our mobile apps from your device.
Cookies
Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our Services.
Promotional Communications
You may opt out of receiving promotional emails or text messages from Wayzn by following the instructions in those communications. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as those about your account or our ongoing business relations.
Mobile Push Notifications
With your consent, we may send push notifications to your mobile device. You can deactivate these messages at any time by changing the notification settings on your mobile device, but doing so may prevent your ability to use certain features.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the bottom of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our website homepage or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services or otherwise interact with us to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you. If you object to any of the changes to this Privacy Policy, you may stop using this Application and can request that we erase your Personal Data by emailing us at support@wayzn.com.
